Life Happens….

August 25, 2010 1:09 pm

Ok, we all know I am horrible about posting our goings on around here.  I haven’t made it part of my life.  Maybe someday.  See those adorable faces?  They keep me busy.  I’m going to try to recap a few of the events from our summer.  Stay tuned.  (Family and friends, you’ll notice I’ve already posted 2 new entries!)

Maisy Turns 2! (ok, a couple of months ago)

1:01 pm

Maisy turned 2 on June 4 and is growing into her nickname of “Crazy Maisy.”  She is a lot of fun, talkative, smart and loves her siblings.  Everything is “my” and “mine.”  My Emma, my Cooper, my Megee.  Its pretty cute… most of the time.  She is now into princesses and loves to play with her little figures. She loves jumping on the trampoline and has a pretty good dive roll/front handspring going on.   She also loves getting underdogs on the swings (or underdoggies as she calls them).  She dances (she shakes her booty) and sings.  Some of her favorite songs to sing are “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz and “Somebody” by Kings of Leon.  She does recite those songs pretty well.  She also loves to swim and is quite good.  Except her floaties have given her a false sense of security.  The other day she headed right down the steps of grandma’s pool as I was yelling for her to stop.  She looked at me as if to say, “yah right mom, watch this!”  She didn’t float like she expected, so I handed off baby Holland, and jumped in fully clothed to save her.  My phone was in my pocket.  This happened to be the third time I’ve ruined a phone by saving one of my children.  Worth it I suppose!

My one blue and one brown eyed tow head is a lot of fun and keeps us hopping.  We love our Maisy!

Back to School

11:58 am

Back to school is always bitter sweet.  I’m going to miss all my babies.  I love the freedom of summer and having the kids around.  We have a good time.  Of course you have days where you wish they were all back in school.  It will be nice to be on a regular schedule again, and going to the store will be easier.  But along with school comes busy schedules as well.  Fall sports, games, homework, piano, projects, scouts, activity days, running around, etc., etc.  Maisy is already missing her siblings.  She said she wanted to go to school too.  She was crying at the door for Emma.  She doesn’t have her buddys here to play with.  Even writing this post has taken me much longer than it should have because Maisy doesn’t know what to do with herself.  I’m sure she will fall into the groove soon enough.  One more year until preschool Maisy!

Our Beautiful Kitchen!

February 4, 2010 6:08 pm

Here is our kitchen that we are able to now use and live in and love.  It is amazing and we absolutely love it!  (if you’ve forgotten what our old kitchen looked liked, just scroll down a tad)  There are still paint touch ups to do and a few odds and ends to wrap up.  Oh, and the outside of the house (front, one side and back) need to be finished.  But we are over the hard stuff.  We do need some new furniture to go with our cute new spaces, but that will have to wait a while.  We are very happy with how it turned out!

One Tooth Gone!

2:25 pm

meg looses tooth

Our little 5-year-old Meg lost her first tooth!  She messsed with it until it was ready.  Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle….”is it ready yet?”  She lost it on a Saturday but waited to put it under her pillow until the following Friday night, after her show and tell day at school.  And when the tooth fairy came, he almost got caught.  “Dad, why did you take my tooth and leave a dollar under my pillow?” Apparently she was pretending to be asleep.  Brig assured her that it wasn’t him, he just thought he heard something and went in to check.  Phew! Its still all good here in tooth fairy land.
