Merry Christmas

December 25, 2005 3:38 pm

We hope you all have had a very Merry Christmas. Things here have been pretty good. Last night we had our traditional Christmas Eve at the Swindles. There was a lot of food and the kids all got to open presents from their friends. It sure got them excited for the rest of the presents. The kids also made reindeer licks to leave for Santa’s reindeer. Cooper has had a cough for a while and he was hacking up a lung all night. (click on the pictures to enlarge)

We came home and they each got to open, 1 present. Surprisingly enough they all got jammies.

The Jammies of 2005

This morning Cooper and Emma were up at about 6:45. They were pretty excited. We had them come in our room to wait for Meg to wake up. Meg is usually up before 7. As it became closer to 7:30 we decided to stop torturing the kids and let Cooper and Emma start while we waited for Meg to wake up. They got a ton of stuff as you can see from the pictures. Meg finally woke up at 8 and joined in the fun. She was kind of overwhelmed and would walk back to the room and get some of her old stuff. They all love their presents.

Thanks so much for all of you that got us stuff. We really appreciate it. Enjoy all of the Christmas pictures here

Trash Talk

December 21, 2005 4:20 pm

It is unbelievable, the amount of trash talk that is coming from the thewisefamily.org. Alph and Josh sure talk a good game. I wouldn’t be surprised if they chicken out prior to the game. Maybe one will pull a hammy the night before or something.

I have recommended that we videotape our game and post a copy on our sites. That would give everybody a chance to see what this game is really like, and see who the winners really are. For those of you who have not seen it yet, it is quite rough. Our basketball games resemble football games, a whole lot of contact. Alph and Josh do not believe in fouls until they are about to lose, and then they only believe in them if they miss a shot.

Come on boys let’s see what you’ve got!

Almost down the Drain

4:08 pm

Last night I had a very scary experience. Emma has decided recently to not poop. She had held it for some time(two to three days), and it was causing her some awful discomfort. After multiple threats and missing a gymnastics class, she finally decided to give it a try and she was successful(hallelujah). Of course we were all very proud of her. I came to her aid to help finish up the process. She had stored up quite an odor in her colon over the past few days which had filled the bathroom. I quickly flushed the toilet to help with the smell. And it is a good thing I did! As I bent over to help her, my Treo 650 jumped from my pocket right into the bowl. Fortunately, there was nothing but clean water. I quickly reached in and pulled my phone out. A kind of worked initially but then started to act funky. I shook it and tried to blow the water out with a fan, but that didn’t work. I was working at my desk trying to find a screw to unscrew the back, but was unsuccessful and then decided to leave it underneath my desk lamp. After only a few hours my phone was fully functional again.

Cold and a little snow

November 29, 2005 5:19 pm

Well we have had a little snow. It hasn’t been much, just a few flurries, but it sure is cold. The weather makes us want to move to California.

In good news, I finally got our Christmas lights working. Last year I put a bunch up, but was short. I never got around to putting the rest of them up. I put them up the other day, but I kept burning out fuses because I guess I had too many in series. So I had to get another extension cord and worked it out tonight. It looks good. Maybe I will add a picture later, it’s just so cold out there, I don’t know if I can brave it to take a picture.

Meg Walks

November 15, 2005 3:52 pm

Well Meg is finally deciding to be brave. She has started walking around. Here is a short video clip of her doing her thing. We are so proud of her. And she is too. She claps pretty much everytime she falls.
